I have a 5-10 year-old SA-2 Perfect Timbre pickup/preamp in my guitar. When I purchased this guitar (used) a couple years ago, it worked *great*! After a year-long guitar-playing hiatus, I plugged my guitar into my amp, and it now has a fairly loud 60Hz hum. I can hear the guitar if I turn it up enough, but the hum is bad enough that it is unusable for performing. It hums with all amps and all cords I've tried, so I'm reasonably sure it's the SA-2 preamp in the guitar.

Anyone use them? Horror stories? Do you find you don't use it that much anyway?

I'm using Cakewalk Music Creator Pro24 and for a while it let me convert my files to MP3's so I could share with all of you blokes. Now the free trial is done with and I'm wondering if there's a FREE way to convert these Cakewalk files to MP3's. I just finished redoing some work, wrote a new song, and am in progress in one of the forum jams... but now I need help!

I have an lp standard with 2 seth lovers. I like the sound of the neck pickup but the bridge is less loud and seems cold. I'm not really too confident in the pots and I was wondering whether I had a electrical problem (short or need new pots), or just don't like the sond of the bridge as much. Any input would be great, thanks.

I have just noticed that Guitar Center is having a sale on these so called hybrid combo amps. Does anybody know anything about them or own one? Are they any good?

I am really digging on this amp! The one and only thing I don't like is how the low end can get a bit quot;flubby.quot; No complaints with the high end or the mids at all. I just want to tighten up the low end. Any suggestions are appreciated.

... is it a clone of another pedal, like a Tube Screamer or something OR is it its own animal.

Hello, I have a 2000 Fender American Standard Strat (alder/maple).
I have been barrelling through pickups lately and want to give Duncan one last chance on this guitar. The Guitar has a 2 post wilk, but will soon get a Callahan 6 screw. I know the bridge is part of it- but not all of it. I run the guitar into a Diezel Herbert, a MarkIIC and a variety of Vintage Marshalls.

I was just listening to quot;Goodbye Creamquot;...what a tone. How about the solo on the live version of I'm So Glad? The beginning of shred guitar. Has EC ever gone on record as to why he stoppped playing Gibson's?

Hey Everyone...Last night I was working on my Jackson in which I have a C5 in the bridge position. When I looked closely at the pickup, I noticed a hair-line crack on the bobbin closest to the neck that runs the length of the bobbin right through the pole pieces. The guitar stays in the basement and doesn't get abused...in fact it's been a while since I've picked it up at all.
