Could someone explain the difference between th SSL-1s and the Surfers? Cause everyone's talking like quot;if you can afford Surfers, get them!quot;... So what's so special abou them?

I've got a dremel, but I worry about it's inability to control the depth of the cut and no router attatchment is available for this model (Bamp;D RTX series). A full size router, though, seems like rather overkill and too large a tool for such smallish work. Would something like this work:
