ok i just realized that i didn't know something...go figure lol...

Most likely I'm going to use basswood for my warmoth build. Why? I've played a lot of basswood guitars including a strat made of one and they simply sounded awesome. Not to mention others I've played like the Ibanez Satch model, Ernie Ball Petrucci, Axis, Tom Anderson Strat, that all had basswood bodies sound great and that's the type of tone I'm going for. I know the wood is fairly soft but that's not so much of an issue. Mahogany was my 2nd choice but I fear that may be a little too heavy. Swamp ash and Alder don't seem to lend the type of sound I'm looking for. This will end up being a dual humbucker hot rodded strat. I just wanted to see if anyone has any comments about it before I commit to it.

This thread is for guitar players familiar with Splawn modded amps and know what they may sound like, or have even played through one.

I've tried putting a basic, domestic fan behind my amp to cool it down and hopefully stop it over-heating. It works, but it makes the amp sound horrible. A really nasty modulation type sound. My dad thought it was probably because of the 240v motor (in the fan) giving off a signal that was interfering with the amp, or something. Do you think this is the most likely reason?

Is it possible to buy this pickup with the SD logo on it? My other pickups have the logo and it would be nice to keep them all the same. (That's the semi silly part)

Does this seem like a genuine auction? I have no way of knowing the pickup is a seymour duncan after all. I asked the seller for more pictures but I thought I'd ask you guys as well.

LOL! I went to GC today to try the Epi Wildkats but they have this American Tellecaster on sale for $538 down fron $1200 or so. I usually don't like the way fenders feel but this one is nice with a rosewood fret board. Dam! You don't need another guitar! No!No!No!

ok, im new to the forum, and i came partly for advice on selecting pickups. I play high gain death metal thru a peavey 6505 (5150 2) with a Jackson KE3 Kelly, and i hate my my invader style Duncan Detonators. They aren't clear and shoot out way too much bass thru my amp. My presence and treble are turned up, and i dont want to adjust my tone around how my pickups sound. What im looking for in my new pickups is clarity with high gain, great pinch harmonics, and a bit of scoop. I am open to any company, i just need peoples opinions. Thankyou.
