My taste in pedals is becomingas such that about 1/2 the time a standard BOSS power supply ain't gonna do it no mo... I'm thinking of selling my PS-35 and what's left of the accessories ( ) and doing this...

I'm a beginner and I very rarely play cleans, unless when I just practise scales or chord. Most people say, 'play clean, it will be better as you'll hear your mistakes' but WOW... When the distortion is on, notes and harmonics JUMP out of the guitar (and yes the pickup is for a lot: The Jackson pickup was much less good with harmonics and less hot than the FullShred I now have, but it still made mistakes more apparent).
So the question I'm wondering is... With a high output pickup, isn't it better to learn WITH distortion? It will make you practise your muting techniques, and also have your brain fear all that time when you hear one of those wrong notes just when you thought you had it. If you use single coils or low output humbucker then I guess it's better to indeed play clean. I just think there's a certain 'level' of output after which the gain doesn't hide anything, but amplifies your mistakes.

So I get scratchy noises on the volume pot when I turn it. I checked the connections and cleaned them with alcohol but it is still schratcy sounding and even cuts completly out at certain stops. My knowlage in electronic componets says yes, but the guitar is only one day old!!!! and I just changed the pickups in it. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there just something I'm overlooking? By the way, It is in that limited Edition Jackson and the dimebucker does sound pretty good! Thanx

hi guys, just wondering if anyone had any tips on how to improve my palm muted sound. at the minute the notes on the low e string are just too muddy, not clear enough. what factors could be cauing this? what things could i change or adjust to try to improve this? thanks

I am thinking of building a Warmoth guitar specifically to house a pair of P90's.
I was wondering do you think a Tele body style would suit the sound and mojo of the P90's? Or should I just go with a LP or Double Cut shape?
