Just not playing this one like I thought I would, althought it's perfect and sounds like a dream. I'll probably regret selling it, but I'd like to have the $$ in reserve for something else. I'm not looking to make any $$ on it here, just get out of it what I have in it. If I have to go to eBay, I'll probably start a few hundred higher.

Have just started learning SRV's Pamp;J and kinda stuck at the moment. The licks, etc are fine - just the rhythms messing with me a bit! What I'm currently doing is using my fretting hand to mute after you hit the open strings to get that percussive sound. To explain further - after SRV does his initial blues intro, he hits the low E, then the open strings (slightly muted). Then a G bass note, open strings, then B, open strings, etc...

I'm having a really hard time choosing a passive pickup for my guitar.
I don't want to deal with active pickups and i keep hearing that the passive emg hz pups suck. So I was leaning torwards the JB, but after reading through these forums i think the DD may be better for me.

I have OD pedals but I don't have distortion pedal (and I play hardcore industrial progressive dark death shredding emo metal ... j/k).
What kinda distortion pedal would you suggest? BTW, if I am buying one, I want to buy a nice one, rather than keep changing bad ones.

what are the things that i should consider when putting active pickups in a hollow-bodied guitar? what are its pros and cons?

OK, I've got an ash bodied CIJ Strat that has become something of a project. The guitar seems to have a pretty bright tone. It currently has a set of MIA Delta Tones in it. I just scored a Fralin SP43 bridge pickup for a beefier tone which I will install in the next couple of days.

This could be quite a long one, but hopefully a fun too!
