Just not playing this one like I thought I would, althought it's perfect and sounds like a dream. I'll probably regret selling it, but I'd like to have the $$ in reserve for something else. I'm not looking to make any $$ on it here, just get out of it what I have in it. If I have to go to eBay, I'll probably start a few hundred higher.

Here are the details:

1998 Model
Black Historic Case
No Certificate (not issued before 2001 I believe)
Light - 8.1 lbs
Nickel Covered Seth Lovers (both double cream underneath) - I also have the BB2 and 3 that came stock.
Aged Hardware
Lightweight Tailpiece (standard on Historics)
New ABR-1 bridge, replaced under warranty (saddles were not cut properly, Theodie took care of the new one nicely)
New Bone Nut (installed and dressed by Theodie)
Very nice fretwork, no sharp edges or dressing issues
Nice FAT neck....slightly larger than a 50's profile, common on 57's

There are no dings, dents, issues, ect on the top. The back of the guitar has some slight worming from the previous owner, but nothing is through the wood. I'm picky about my gear, and this was fine with me. 9 out of 10 conservatively because of the worming. The grain on the back of the body is nice and straight...no swirling or wavy grain...like an arrow, light back. I'll get some more detailed pics up in a day or two as I am out of town.

I've played a few historic GT's, and this one is great sounding....I know I'll kick myself later for selling it. Great clarity and a nice woody tone. Has a nice balanced tone (not to mention loud) tone when played unplugged, and sounds like a dream thru my Marshall.

$1700 Shipping with the BB2 and 3 installed.
$1800 Shipping with the double cream Seth's (nickel covered)
$1900 Shipping if you want both sets of pups

Any of you who don't know me can see my feedback here in the good trader thread...been a member for 3 years at least. eBay feedback is Jeff_H66.

It will ship in the historic case, and inside a Gibson Box, just as I received it.

Dude, those are excelent prices. WOW!

Nice axe! FWIW, I've dealt w/ Jeff and he does indeed baby his gear. This is a great score for someone! Good luck in the sale brother!

I have personally played that Axe and made the Bone nut for it. I can vouch for it being a Killer guitar!!!!

Damn Jeff...where were you last week when I was wantin to trade my McCarty for a R7 or R8?

Sweet axe. Bad timing for me as I just got a new Standard. Otherwise I'd be all over it.

And BTW..yes you WILL regret getting rid of it.

I know I'll regret selling it. It's the lightest LP I have played (8.1 lbs), and sounds like a dream. In all honesty, the neck is a little too fat for me, that's my only complaint. Jolly says it best when he calls Gibson's quot;useable investmentsquot;. It's just sitting here not being played, and I'd like to have the $$ in reserve for other things.

Someone hurry up, as I'm very likely to change my mind.

Nobody?

Mmm...I'm in the market..sorta...but I can't handle the big ole neck on those...I'm lookin for something with a slim 60s....good luck though!

Mike
