I've been digging how these things look. They sound pretty great too.
What are you opinions on the Aerodyne Tele? Is it worth it?
Or should I just save up for an American Deluxe?
they look great and sound good...only problem in my eyes (for me) is the neck radius with the 7.25 vintage radius it makes lead work and big bends a bit of a pain compaired to a 9.5 or flatter radius. i've been thinking of getting one but if i do i have to have my tech re-radius it to a 10.5 or so....so i keep putting it off b/c that would add about $200 to the cost of the guitar. if you've tried one and like it and the radius doesn't bother you, i'd go for it.

Very cool guitars. Almost bought one a while ago. I'd prefer a fatter neck, but very nice apart from that.
Yeah, it would save me a bunch of money too! I don't solo much, but I do play single note quot;lead linesquot; which involve bending, so this may be a problem. My Yamaha AES420 has a thick baseball bat kind of neck and the Aerodyne may take a bit of getting used to but it seems worth it.
I just don't want to buy a quot;lower-endquot; Fender and end up selling it like a did with the MIM Strat.
Anyway, thanks for the help guys. More would be appreciated if any of you can get to it.
I love the look of it. I'd probably want one, if I found a good used price on one.
One thing I like to do, to avoid modding cost on Fenders, is to buy two at the same time, then combine the best parts from both, then sell off the other for what I paid for it. Then, you can end up with an Aerodyne body with an American neck, and sell off the Am. Std body w/Aerodyne neck. That's a good way to do it, although it's a bit of a hassle. To me, Fender's are there for picking parts, and reselling.

Remind me what your eBay moniker is again.
Those Aerodyne's are some sharp axe's, but then again, I don't find too many things in the catalog that I don't like.
I've been GASsing real bad for Fenders lately. I need help!
And gearjoneser, I would buy two to Frankenstein them, but I'm on a budget!
But anyway, I pretty much think I'm going to pick up the Aerodyne.
Some more questions:
Would you guys keep the bridge, tuning keys, and pickups? or do a swap?
Are the factory pots good enough? Or would I have to change those too?

Bump, I want to know too.
HC says the pup switch is shit. Everyone there has replaced the switch within weeks.
The Aerodynes look pretty sharp, but I'd be more inclined to go with an American Series Tele and mod it with a Phat Cat or Firebird-style mini-HB at the neck and a JD or whatever you please at the bridge. The American Series Teles and several of the non-vintage style Mexi Teles (e.g., the Nashville Deluxe) are factory routed for a neck HB, so a P90 won't fit but a HB, Phat Cat or mini-HB will. However, if you like the feel and playability of the Aerodyne, then go for it.
the Aerodyne series is the coolest thing Fender's done in a while if you ask me. Can't wait until i can afford one of those Jazz Basses. I vote...get it.
