has the bass and midrange of a DD, but has a little less highs. Any suggestions???
I'm replacing a JB in my '95 LP Studio #1, but compared to my other LP's doesn't sound as thick. One LP #2('91 Studio) has a DD and LP #3('95 Epi) has a JB and are very similar in tone to each other. What are you're thoughts on a BBQ and how does it compare to a DD? BTW, I really love the sound of my DD in LP #2, and have tried BOTH a DD and a JB in my #1 and find both a little bright.
Cheers Primo.
Have you ever tried a superdistortion?

You may want to check out the SH-5 Custom. I had a JB in my guitar before and it's definitely a thicker sounding pickup. Compared to the DD, the highs are not quite as pronounced, yet it still has plenty of punch in the lows and mids. For even less highs and more bass you could go with the Invader, although some people have mentioned that it can get a tad muddy in some LP's.
