Can't decide....
ok so im currently guitarless,(besides acoustic...have been for the past month or so due to school costs. so for now im going to have to get something pretty cheap ($600 max). ive pretty much narrowed it down to 2. if you're wondering what kind of music i play/like.....it tends to be mostly hard stuff, not much cleans....lots of chugs and heavy stuff. for now i am going to get either an epiphone sg, or a schecter 006 elite (see-thru black). i'll be putting either a jb or custom in whatever i get. the sg is about $100 cheaper, but that's not really a factor. i know you guys cant make me decide, but i thought i should get some opinions on it, since i don't have a way to play the 006 before i buy it. thanks

vintage telecaster humbuckers
my uncle just lent me his 70 something custom telecaster and it has one of those nickel covered neck humbuckers. The one's that have 3 poles on the treble side and 3 on the bass side, like a duck bucker.

Gibson LP Melody Maker
I don't know why but I just love the simplicity of these guitars. I like older models with the wraparound bridge better though. It's probably the simplest guitar next to the Tele there is. Both single-cut. Only diff electronically is one pickup and a switch.

tapping vs. splitting vs. quot;jimmy page wiringquot; ?
Can some of you chime in on what the terminology, and technical differences are between tapping, splitting and quot;jimmy pagequot; wiring guitars /pickups. I think I have some vague grasp that humbuckers can use one or both coils independently. Does this relate to my above questions, and if so how ? How many variations does quot;jimmy pagequot; wiring allow as opposed to typical les paul configurations ?

Changed my mind about Steve Vai
Been watching the Crossroads DVD quite a bit lately and initially I was not a big fan of Steve Vai's stuff (that was really my introduction to his stuff), but I've been watching it more and I must admit I've grown to enjoy it.

Yamaha Weddinton Special LP special copy w
I am selling a Yamaha-Weddinton Special. It’s Yamaha’s version of a Les Paul Special, that came out in the early 90’s. The guitar is all mahogany, with a set neck. It has a few scratches on the body from play ware, but nothing too drastic. The guitar has a nice cherry red finish and looks great. I have replaced the original pickups with P-90’s and had “Paper in Oil” .022 capacitors installed to give more of a vintage vibe to the tone. But I am including the original Dimarzio DXL 90’s and five way switch with the guitar, as well as a hard shell case. My price is $450 (shipping included) and I prefer a US postal money order as means of payment. Email me for pics
