Any ideas on which effect pedal will give the best twin or even three guitar sounds?

I finally did the 50s wiring mod for Strat that we talked about a couple months back. The thread got vaulted due to the cool schematic these two came up with.
I used that today, very simple change. Just had to reposition two connections, that's it. Easiest mod I've done so far and the results are incredible. The Tex-Mex pickups in my Jimmie Vaugh Strat, which I thought sounded good before, have opened up tremendously. Very spanky and articulate now, no treble loss when you roll the volume back, the tone control is way more useful. No changes other than the simple wire swaps were made.

Installed a switch to take the hot from the 5 way direct to the output jack in a friend's axe. The effect of going direct to jack wasn't as dramatic as I thought it would be. A VERY SLIGHT brightening and hollowing of the tone, barely noticeable.

I have a Gibson Flying V Faded with the moon inlays in very good condition, no gig bag and a SD SD in the bridge. Unfortunately, my room mate knocked it over and put a hairline crack in the back of the headstock. It's too tiny to even repair, and very hard to see, and it's flush. But I still feel responsible to tell buyers about it.

I am considering building (or at least trying to build) a telecaster with parts from Warmoth. It seems that their part are good, but I have'nt seen them other than on their web site. Any comments?

I know that for some, a tube amp running all out is considered to be tonal valhalla. My question is, is it really just the tubes? Sure, I can get a hotplate, or a weber mass, and have those tubes running really hot, with a severly reduced lifespan. But, why doesn't that cranked up sound have something to do with the speakers as well? how much more are they vibrating with your volume at 0.5 as opposed to 5.0? I suppose if you try the same cabinet with a Solid state head, the difference in tone at certain volumes is more in the hands of the speakers, than it is in the head? For that cranked up tube amp tone, I think there can really be NO substitute, and why should there be? No hotplate or mass can make that cranked up tube sound at bedroom levels, how can it? If I ever go into the studio again, I know my amp will be cranked to at least 8, and there will be Rock.

Hey I have a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe 40 watt amp, and it seems like since I bought it new (around 4 years ago), the volume has dropped...Like I used to play it on 1.5 or so and now I play it at around 2.5....Does this mean my tubes are fading, or what?

Whats your favorite strat color and color pickguard/pickups?
