I finally did the 50s wiring mod for Strat that we talked about a couple months back. The thread got vaulted due to the cool schematic these two came up with.
I used that today, very simple change. Just had to reposition two connections, that's it. Easiest mod I've done so far and the results are incredible. The Tex-Mex pickups in my Jimmie Vaugh Strat, which I thought sounded good before, have opened up tremendously. Very spanky and articulate now, no treble loss when you roll the volume back, the tone control is way more useful. No changes other than the simple wire swaps were made.
Thanks guys for a great schematic. Artie drew up the schematic I used in my Esquire conversion as well, one of the cleanest Esquire wiring jobs I've ever seen. Its nice to know that I may have had some small part in someone's guitar tone sounding better. It was Lew, in this forum, that taught me what the 50's mod was. I just made the 8 x 10 glossy's.
Thanks again to Lew.

The two schematics you've drawn up for me have been the cleanest wiring schemes I've ever seen. They work great!
Here's a pic of the finished mod, very clean and easy. I didn't have to add or remove anything, just moved two wires around. Thanks again!
Awesome! Glad to help.
