Got a new American Tele off of e-bay to put a Seth Lover in. I decided I didn't want to deal with the phase issues so I went to a local shop to get a Duncan bridge. All they had was a Donahue so I threw that in.

Turns out to be a sweet combo...they complement each other very nicely.

quot;Settlingquot; on a Jerry Donahue, is kinda like quot;settlingquot; on a Ferrari. You could do worse.

I have a JD also. Love it. Enjoy.

Yeah, I guess the quot;all they hadquot; bit sounded a little condescending. I had read up on the Donahue but was hoping they had a Vintage Stack so I would have a noiseless guitar. Turns out the Donahue has an element of smoothness that works well with the Seth, which is...well, you know.

I call the guitar quot;The Heart of Darknessquot;

I didn't take it that way. I just thought it was funny. I actually pulled my JD out of my Genny just becuase it was too good for this guitar. I'm saving it for a quot;genuinequot; Tele. Hopefully, this spring. Very smooth pup, but still retains Tele-twang.

LOL, that was good...

Esquire55, you should take your Tele into the store to try come amps and let them hear that combo...

i have put that combo in a few teles and i think its a great match!!

I've tried many a neck bucker in various teles over the years. The Seth continues to be at the top of the list. The lower output, unpotted vintage wind seems to be tailor made for the telecaster.

I've used the Seth with many a bridge pup ( Broadcaster, Van Zandt, T-90, Little 59'r, Novak, Electrokraft, VV Hot T, Fender OV ) and it has worked splendidly with each. The JD is one I have yet to try, but now you have myt interest piqued!

Congrats on finding a toneful combo!

For some reason, I missed the pic the first time. Very nice Tele. I love the black.

(Nice rug too.)

I can't see the pic...

Its a link . . . you gotta click on it.

Nice Tele! I have the JD matched with a Phat Cat, which is also a really sweet combo. However, I've really gotten into vintage-style PAF neck HBs lately, so I have contemplated a change over to a Seth, APH, or Antiquity neck HB. The Tele in question has a white pearl pickguard and white blonde ash body with rosewood fingerboard, so it's the opposite of the quot;heart of darknessquot; in appearance, and would look best with a nickel cover. Hmmmm....

I tried the same combo.

Unfortunately, I couldn't adjust the Seth low enough, and it threw the balance off, so I went back to a Hot in the neck, which sounds fine anyway.

here's what it looked like:Nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Are you guys running the Seth and the JD thru standard Tele controls? I'm wondering about the difference in output between the two.

Both are really *great* pickups. They both have that *awesome* a2 midrange quality that would be a great match I would think. Cool tele!

Thanks for the feedback. I am personally running this guitar with the standard three position wiring. I was particularly pleased with the musical quality of the middle position. This guitar inspired me to sell off a few others.
