H/minihum/minihum :how would this sound like tone wise if i used:
2 duncan custom minihums
and a custom custom
in an alder strat
anyone?
I wish i knew, But i've never seen anyone do that before. It be great if you post some pics and sound clips for us if you end up doing it.
Good luck, hope someone can help you.
No, that would be quite impossible

really? why?
could anyone provide more info?
I'm no expert, but three humbucker guitars are perfectly possible, and minihums don't pose any extra wiring difficulties, iirc. It should be quite possible.
Edit: and places like Warmoth would route a pickguard to hold the pickups, too, as far as the physical aspect goes.
What are you talking about?! There is NO WAY that would work. You people are crazy.
Well then, tell me why it technically wouldn't work?
I dont see why it wouldn't work? Tell us?
and WHAT THE HELL WOULD IT SOUND LIKE
DONT TELL ME IM THE ONLY GUY WHO THOUGHT OF THIS
WHAT TONE WOULD I GET FROM IT

No...I'm fairly certain that somewhere in this universe there's someone with just as much free time on your hands, if not more, to think of completely obscure and almost entirely useless pickup combinations.
Give me a week, a couch, and a few pounds of kindbud and I'm certain I could probably do about the same.

If we told you then we'd have to kill you.
Try to find a Schecter Hellcat. Those came with 3 mini's.
BTW, I'm building a strat with a pair of singles and a Vintage mini 'bucker at the bridge.
ok..... that makes perfect sense. Define quot;assquot;
Ok, this is getting slightly annoying. First of all, you all know that technically it'd work.
Sound wise, how do you know it'd sound bad? Ever tried it? I've seen three humbucker guitars, and they weren't half bad.

Technically, it would work fine.
if you like the sound of a Minihum at the neck (think gibson Firebird) and a Humbucker at the bridge, it will probably suit you well.... If you´ve never worked with a minihum before, you may not like it.

I see alot of cats who advocate them have never actually played one for any length of time.
They're not like a regular humbucker quot;only smallerquot; and they're not a P-90 without the hum. They're their own tone, sound, feel and vibe.
They're an acquired taste. Even after having my Les Paul Deluxe for a few years I'm just starting to really warm up to them tonally. It has been a learning process doing so.
