Has anybody had any expereince with the Lace Alumitones?

WhoFan and I have been PM'ing, but it's time to go public. Can anyone recommend a good source for a not-ridiculously-expensive 3-saddle vintage-style compensated (slanted saddles) Tele bridge?

When you have seven strings tuned down to the key of x flat, the trem gets a little floaty. Does anyone make an after market trem lock for an Ibanez 7 string? I've seen a few Ibanez with some kind of device that locks the trem in place so it doesn't move. I'm looking for a way to lock down my RG-7420.
Or to buy a second Ibanez that has this locking trem creature. Does anyone have knowledge of such??????

Well, I thought of that for a brief second in my mind I was rewiring a guitar that I'm selling and also working on some various pedals mods this afternoon and when I got done, I *thought* I turned off my surge protecter that the soldering iron was plugged into. Well, I was wrong After getting out of the shower, I immediately could smell something but couldn't place it. At first, I thought maybe it was the guy working downstairs on the new floors...but it wasn't.

An elementary question, I know, but I’m simply curious. When it comes to an all tube amp and channel switching, how exactly does the amp handle gains? I’m completely dumb when it comes to this. Do tubes get switched on and off? How’s it work?

I seem to have been bitten by the quot;buildingquot; bug (again) and I'm finding myself wanting to build (yet another) guitar. I'm wanting a body that's fairly heavy, kind of like the Strats from the 70's yet hardtail. I've looked at all of the usual sites (Stew Mac, WD, etc), but noone seems to be manufacturing bodies like this. I'd even consider Lucite, but noone seems to be making those, either. Does anyone have any ideas?
