I just got a beat to hell used JCM 800 combo- the 4212, 100 watt monster with 2X12 speakers, it's the channel switching reverb model. So far I've only used the lead channel. The amp kicks serious booty, I traded in my DSL 401 and Valvestate VS100R for it, plus some money. I paid $800 for it, and it's worth every penny. It does the classic rock thing well, and with a TS-9 in front and a Boss EQ in the effects loop it does great metal, the EQ with scooped mids turns it into a totally different amp, very close to a Boogie. The tone of this amp can be shaped alot.

Neck-Thru kit: Neck Wings for $150
This was cleared out of an old Gretsch factory in 1980, it's what was supposed to become a Gretsch BST-5000, a double-cutaway neck-thru sustain monster. The factory shut down and everything was left undone. I picked this up on ebay recently, but decided to concentrate on my other project (see avatar) instead. I'm asking $150 shipping
This a 3-piece neck maple with a layer of walnut in between. 24 frets (low and wide), rosewood fretboard, 24.75 (Gibson) scale, binding, and an uncut nut. The trussrod adjustment is on the bottom of the neck. The wings are Walnut, one is 1-piece, the other is 2-piece. It's all 2quot; thick. The guitar IS NOT glued togehter yet, I just set the 2 wings beside the neck for the photo.

Stripping down the features
I've got 3 guitars all packed with the usual features, HB's, SC's, Floyd rose, 3 amp; 5 way switches etc, but at the moment i've got real G.A.S for probably one of the cheapest guitars ever built, the Epiphone SG Junior ( 1 P90, Vol, Tone) Has any one else just had that feeling where they really want to leave there 3 mini switch, push-pull knob, super switch guitars and play something so basic it shows your true colurs as a player?

any way to mass produce handwired amps?
This is inspired by the marshall thread.
Is there any way a machine can wire an amp automatically? Like have all the components on a rack w/ clamps on each part that drops into a chassis w/ eyelet solder joints and hot irons under them or something? All these years making extremely complex products and we cant machine manufacture a simple PTP circuit....

Tube Amp or Digital Amp for Brown Sound?
Hi Folks.. Lately I've had this terrible hankering to try to get the Brown sound after listening to Eruption. I realize that EVH used hot amps, with voltage boosters, and effects, etc.. But I'm wondering what amp one can get that will at least get me close. I think I have the licks per sey if I just had the equipment. I also want to use a Digital processor even though I like tube amps better, but I'm getting too old to carry them around. I want something like the POD XT floor unit is what I am thinking that I can record with and play live with thru the house PA.. I just jam with a couple bands now, but I'm moving to Indianapolis and want to start a three piece band.. Mostly blues (Think Blue Jean Blues), but I'll also do stuff like Ted Nugent, Lynard Skynard, Ozzy, Racer X, Paul Gilvert, etc, etc.. etc.. VH of course.. Ok.. What digital amp would you recommend that has most if not everything I need.? I need something that of course has XLR outputs to go to the board or mixer.. Also, I need something that has enough patches to do anywhere from 30 to say 60 songs.. Enough effects to cover most things.. as I want to be versatile so I only have to play a couple guitars.. I will be playing probably a new Godin Strat style guitar, and a Jackson Reverse Headstock String thru the body guitar with probably a Duncan 59 in the bridge and neck or Distortion in the Bridge and maybe a PG in the neck.. The other guitar will be a LP STudio type guitar.. with probably two 59's.. or again a 59 and PG.. I might try the lower output Rio Grande Pickup on the Gibson.. Any help would be highly appreciated..

59's on a Paul
Anyone curious what 59's sound like on a Les Paul? Well the rhythm is on the neck and the lead on the bridge. This is recorded clean straight into my computer's input. ...a hint of reverb and stereo to keep it groovin... all and all, just a doodle, but good clean tone. CHECK IT OUT...
