Yesterday i got Guitarist magazine which has a DVD with David Gilmour's performance of Marooned on the strat pack concert( a concert for the 50 years of the fender strat i think) where he was playing his number 0001 strat. What an amazing player!!!!!!....................he still got THAT sound.......it was obvious that the 0001 strat was giving him some playability problems(you can see clearly his playing is not so effortless than when he uses his red 57 reissue) and the sound is a bit thinner that the 57 reissue with the emgs but hey..............that's a 50 years old guitar........I need to buy the full DVD...................

....I have a strat body arriving and some pick-ups.
I like the sleek loof of XSSIVE's strat and the industrial look of screamingdaisy's strat.

Can anyone help a newbie please? This is only my second project and I'm proper stuck! While cleaning out my box of guitar stuff, I came across a partially wired up Strat scratchplate that I had stored from the early 90s. Some tasty pickups waiting to be slotted into a project. I have a donor Jap 69 reissue ready, but no idea how to fit a new switch and get rocking.
Hot Rails in bridge and neck, Alnico II in middle all wired to a Vol and 2 push-pull tone pots. As I remember it, the middle pot splits the coils on the rails and the bottom pot selects neck and bridge together. There's 3 black and 4 white wires but in what order to connect to a 5 way switch? I've been trawling t'interweb for hours and not come across a diagram that explains this wiring. Can anybody point me in the right direction please?
