....I have a strat body arriving and some pick-ups.
I like the sleek loof of XSSIVE's strat and the industrial look of screamingdaisy's strat.
So forget the smash-o-caster I know what I'm going to do with this stuff:
rosewood/maple neck with brushed aluminum Sperzels,Feitenized, oil finished, standard radius,D-shaped neck, with screw head inlays set into an aluminum sleeve,(ala theodie's)
Flat black body with black brushed aluminum pickgaurd, single hum, aluminum mounting ring, string through body, single volume,(push-pull for split).
I did this on the Kisakae site and I liked it,I can't post it because I never bothered getting a printer,(I don't know why, just never did).

cool...flat black rocks!!!

i'm actually about to soon start another strat build to use up extra parts i have lol. i have Dave (theodie) working on a neck for it now...so if he posts here i know he's slacking off and not in the shop hahahaha j/k Dave. this one will be dubbed the odiecaster since he's doing a bunch of neck work for it!

make sure to take pics of your build John!!

-Mike

It's not gonna be a build.I'm just using parts so it's just an assembly.

well that's what all mine are (parts from all over stuck together to make one guitar) but i still call them builds lol...i guess your right they are just assemblies but that doesn't sound as cool hahaha.

-Mike

Sounds like a great idea. Those screw inlays turned out awesome. I'm sure the industrial look of everything else will compliment them nicely.

SWEET!!!!! Speaking of flat black and flat colors,(YO, XSSIVE) I was thinking of making a hot rod inspired guitar and lots of hot rods have primer gray paint. The saying back in the day was quot;when it will run, it is donequot; hence leaving the car primer. How about a primer gray super strat?

So instead of a rat rod do a rat strat?
That may be an idea,do series of flat colours, sand through it and touch here and there with a few sprays of a flat rust colour.A few spots of silverleaf blended in an touch sprayed could make it look like an old fender in need of a restoration.

Yup!!!! Maybe some flames over the primer gray would be cool also!!!! It would give it that 30's rod look or the old lead sled look. For the lead sled, I think I need to leave the belly and arm countours off the body though.

Hmm,a little pinstriping over top would look cool.Plus going with the paint scheme idea I did in my edit.............Hmmmmmm.....

Do you mean a Von Dutch,(the original not the clothing company),/Ed Roth style flames?

on that note, did i ever show you guys the headstock logo i made on my hot rod esquire? let me go snap a pic, i'm sure you'll like it.

-Mike
