I found this little jem at the local pawnshop for $70. and i planned to part it out and keep the pickup, for some reason it looked like a duncan or a demarzio. After i got it home its a kent armstrong somthing, the output is silly high and i cant stand it. It dont sound bad about 1/4 volume though. Is there anyway i can tweak it so that full volume sounds like its on 1/4?

If you notice the single knob is near the bridge and i bump it when i pick this make it a problem because i keep bumping it up or down. I figured i could do some tweak then i could just leave it up all the way.

Is there anyway i can like put a resistor on one of the coils? so that its still humbucking but one of the coils is backed down a little to get it around 10-11k. Its 15k now. from : localhost/thats the pickup i have.

from the picture on the left it appears to have dropped out from between a woman's legs.

So you bought it for the pickup but the pickup sucks? I'd recommend trying a new pickup Though there are probably more clever wiring options, I don't see why you'd bother... especially if you're going to part out the guitar anyways?

slade

how much would you want for the guitar?

But its raining out, and im bored. I want to tinker man.

I dont know what its worth, i figured ide just let the parts auction.

That bridge looks like an original floyd rose...now thats something id keep!

What if i run 2 control pots? one will be the main volume, the other will kill the output on one of the coils till it sounds good. Ill hide the second pot in the control cavity and ill just adjust it till it sounds good then ill put the cover back on it.

Yeah, I like the way the bridge is cut. If your going to sell it let me know. I would be interested in purchasing it. Some info? Don't part it out.

You'd probably just be cutting the high-end tone with that...right?

Is it the treble of the pickup, or the actual output you don't like?

Maybe put it in a darker sounding guitar?

If you want a project for a rainy day, rewire the coils.

Maybe get a nu pickup ? tinker, add a tone knob.
