On a Tele would I want to put the push pull pot for coil tapping on the volume or tone knob?

can i return a pickup a to seymour duncan if the place i bought from wonyt take it back?

so i just bought this old epi lp off my dad's lead guitarist, and he mentioned that the # was registered in 87', and i was like...nifty. Anyway, its a Purple burst..or it was seeing how it was a blem top so it looks alot like a LP Classic, just purple.
