Differences between Strats and Teles?
Well, that is the question. I have a strat, but not a tele. Anyone who knows the differences in sound or playability, let me know. Why do most of the country players play teles when (it seems to me) strats can get a great single coil sound?

Question about exposed pole pieces
I stripped out one of the screws on my pickup. When this happened I got metal shavings all over the pole pieces. Although, I think I got the shavings all off with tape, I think some may have got into the small crevice around the pole pieces. These are bass pickups, 1 humbucker and a 1 single coil.
If some metal is in there, will this effect the sound or performance of the pickup? Or, potentially damage the pickup in the future?

Neck Humbucker in the Bridge?
I was wondering if anyone has ever tried a neck pup in the bridge and if it worked out well or not, or if anyone could give me reasons as to why it would/wouldn't work.

Coil-splitting Gibson 490r/t pups
My Jazz/JB Les Paul has the coils split and I'm starting to really like this feature. I also have a Gibson SG (490r/490t) and was wondering if anyone has heard theses pups in split mode. Any info is appreciated - thanks.

How old is my acoustic guitar?
I just came home from NY where I picked up this really sweet Yamaha FG 230 12-string acoustic guitar. The tag in the store said it was quot;70squot; and that's it. The serial number is 1483902, it's a red label Nippon Gakki guitar.
