The pup selectors went back and forth for a few years on Explorers in the 80s. I'm not 100% postive but I believe my 88 Explorer had the selector there. Its been near 20 years and I can't even remember what I had for breakfast this morning

I remember seeing those when they first came out. I think GC was selling those and the Tron-style ones for $799.

i agree its not even really that purple. Id say go for it! the color is pretty cool none the less.

I have a 1989 Fernandes super strat in that same colour...

What a sweet colour. Check out the Robin Trower signature strat as well, its more of a dark red but it makes me drool everytime I see it.

You just earned yourself the right to buy me a new keyboard. This one doesn't do well with drool.

A friend of mine has a Gibson Explorer that he bought in '83/'84. His is similar to that color. I believe his color is called plumb wineburst.

That's not purple! It's more like very dark pink. It probably is the plum wineburst JOLLY's mate has.

If I get lucky and they change their mind to a 60 day layaway or somehow $600 falls into my lap I have to get it, it is too pretty to turn down. I must be an explorer guy because they just look so beautiful and actually drive me to buy them rather than the other good guitars I see.

Of course all that might change if I get my E/2 and I hate the feel of it. Hahaha the E/2 is going to be the third guitar I bought without trying, hopefully i'll still be lucky.

Uhh...that doesn't look very purple to me. I'd love a purple PRS though
