i'm putting a new nut on my tele and am not sure what size to get i'm used to either being something like 1 11/16quot; or 1 5/8quot; but on fenders website it says the nut width is 1.6875quot; so which one would that be?

But I´ll still give you a quick Math refresher:

1/16quot; = 1 divided by 16, in decimals 0,0625

1quot; = 16/16quot;, no math necessary...

but the fraction: .6875 , divided by 0,0625, equals 11

i just noticed i put this in here instead of the other one my bad

1 11/16 is what Fender uses

This is exactly why we should have gone metric back in the seventies!
