hello guys and gals.i have an old early 80' hondo les paul copy that i'm looking to put a new bridge pickup into.this is my first electric guitar and it's been sitting around unused for years.i would like to breath some new life into it.my main guitar is a 1991 emerald green ibanez rg565 with a dimarzio paf pro in the bridge slot.i'd like to go with a duncan pickup in this les paul copy.i play primarily hard rock,metal,some thrash/speed/doom metal.i've just installed a screamin demon pickup in it and it's not too bad,but this guitar is pretty bright so it makes this pickup a little thin and harsh.i was wondering if the 59 bridge would be any darker or should i just go with a custom 5.unfortunately there is no clip available of it on the tone audio cd.overall,i want soft highs,good amount of bass/lower mids(growl) that'll work for chugging,yet still be defined.gotta have descent clarity.no mud under high gain.any suggestions??? thanks! much appreciated!

hi guys! how's everyone doing? i hope this isn't an annoying question for you all, but i've decided to start doing my own guitar work rather than taking to the shop, and i'm currently trying to wire my h/s/h guitar with a rotary selector switch. it has 6 positions, and i have 2 push-pull pots (one for volume, one for tone, each one to put each humbucker in parrallel). i've looked everywhere for a diagram, but this is obviously an odd configuration, and i've had no luck so far. can anyone help me out, or let me know a web site which might have some info to help me? (i'm just new at this, so hopefully nothing too hard to follow).

Alright, I need to give these DiMarzio's a shot! I've got a black Jazz neck and a black JB Trembucker to trade. I'd prefer to get the Steves Special if I could only get one, but I'd take the Norton as well.

Will a hot Tele bridge pickup have a thicker tone than a hot strat pickup in the bridge position. My JV strat is routed for a bridge HB and I think there is room for the tele pup, at least that was suggested to me.

What is your prefered wiring schematic for a s/s/s strat? And why?

the stock pickups give off microphone squeal feedback. for replacements, i was thinking jag1 vintage in the neck, jag2 hot in the middle, and and the quarter pounder jag3 in the bridge. i like all kinds of music, but am partial to punk.

Howdy, I have a set of what I think are Pre-1990 Duncan Distortion pickups. The necks tag says SEY-M, the forum and Allen at SD stated this is an early Distortion for the neck called a Seymourizer (sp?). The bridge is listed as DDJ. Both are 4 conductor and have Pickups stamped on the bottom, no Made In America on them.
