I realize that guitars are usually tailored to a particular music style, not all of which would utilize an odd shaped guitar, but do you think there's a cuttoff age, at which it looks inappropriate or even ridiculous to be donning a V, Explorer, Rhoads, Kelly, BC Rich Mockingbird/Warlock/Rich B!tch, or other strange shape?

Okay, I'm about to choose a preplacement neck for my paisley Strat project. Somehow, I've got it into my brain that a tele neck (ala EVH's 57 strat) would be cool. What do you guys think:
-also what fit problems will I have? -A friend put a squier tele neck on his Am std Strat with no problems. Am I right in assuming I'll be able to do the same?

I've read quite a bit from this great forum and scoured the web high and low for some insight into great humbucker pickups for hollowbody jazzboxes and semi-hollows for jazz, blues, classic rock (i.e. low to medium gain, unscooped) etc..

... I will burden you all with my question.

This isn't meant as a shot at anyone,just I'm surprised in general.I was on another forum that a lot of builders visit and I was really surprised at some of the answers to basic acoustic repair questions.
So I was wondering...do you folks find that a lot of techs/shops and stores seem to have a wide variety for electrics and seem to be lacking in acoustic knowledge in terms of construction and repair?
