Can anyone tell me what the specially formulated oil finish is on halen's unfinished maple necks? Is it really just tung oil?

Looking for parts...
I think I'm going to build/assemble, an axe. I've got my eye on a body and a neck. What I am looking for is basic hardware. I want some locking tuners (Grover preferably), a Tele style control plate, knobs, hardtail Strat style bridge, saddles, and a neck plate. I think that is all. If you have any parts you want to get rid of, let me know. I have pickups to trade: 2 '59n, a JBJ, and possibley a Duncan Dist. or another JBJ- not sure whick I'm gonna keep. I will also buy. Thanks!

Strings: tension of .11s but thickness of .10s?
I'm using D'addario XL.11s right now and I'm not too fond of the thickness. The tension is great though, I can tune low, no problems. It's just the thickness. Does a company make .10s with the .11s' tension? I'd then probably get a set of these and change the low E for a .50.

Saddles on my Hamer SATF buzzzzz
Hopefully someone can help me out with this...
I have a (Korean import) Hamer SATF archtop. It has a Gibson-style bridge and tailpiece (although they are cheap Korean versions). I get a very noticable buzzing from the saddles (it appears to be the saddles, anyhow), especially noticeable when I'm not plugged in... any suggestions?

Looking for a loaded strat pickguard or...
... just the strat pups and necessary hardware. I've got a lefty Mexican strat that I keep down at my parents in FLA so I have something to play when I visit. But I can't stand the stock pups... yuk! So I'm looking to upgrade. I'd be willing to take anything that sounds better than the Mexican ones.

Any CLassic '57 fans??
I just got a Les Paul Classic loaded with these pickups and they are really good sounding. The one in the neck is really really good sounding....this is what I wanted my '59 to sound like but it wasn't even half as good. It's creamy and smooth but without the boomy bottom end of the '59. It's got more of a singing sweet top end as well...just very sweet sounding overall. In the bridge it's a little underpowered for my taste and a touch too vintage and loose but it's still good for classic rock.
Anyone else like these?? Stupid question but what are the closest Duncans/Dimarzios to these?

am I missing something? (Diezel content)
I went out today to a fe choice shops and at one of my regular stops they coundn't show me the Diezel amp fast enought...I played through a Herbert and a VH4, and i have to be honest...I was less that in impressed with both of them! I played through a VHT Ultra lead that was right next to the Diezels and the VHT killed them both IMO...
