I have a Strat Plus that has an Antiquity in the bridge. Its non-custom, with output around 6.7kohm. I love it. HOWEVER, I have a Voodoo Strat, and I want to get a different tone from the bridge. The tone needs to be a big and clear type of Strat without darkening the mid's. I want it to be bright but even, without too much clang in the bass. The highs need to be bright, but round, and the lows need to be tight but not too much CLANG!!

Running a stereo amp config
I just got a Reverend Hellhound last week and I really am diggin it. Now that I have 2 amps for the first time in several years I am experimenting with some different configurations. I run both my Blues Jr and my Rev through my DL4 at the same time. What kind of settings have you guys experimented with with smaller amps like these ran in stereo?

Sheilding Question
I've just carried out a couple of mods on my Legacy. It's a little noisy as it's got 3 ssl-1's. I'm proposing to sheild the body route, and wanted confirmation that I'm doing it correctly.
I'm going to use tape rather than paint. I presume that once you've covered the route you have to connect it to the guitar earth? Any help, o wise forum brothers!!

Just made my own bias probe
Weber and Hoffman amps both offer D.I.Y. Bias probe kits. The weber kit inclued 3 resistors for some more options like reading plate voltage from pin 3 and cathode current from the DCV setting on your meter?? Well...I must have done something wrong? Cuz' I couldn't get any plate voltage reading? And the bias was way off? So being that the resistor values are 1 ohm,1 Meg and 100 ohm I figured had a brain fart. So I opened it back up and double checked. Everything looked fine? So after the third time I said screw this!
I opened it up again cut the resistors out and wired it the Hoffman way. Yeah ! Now it works !! The good old KISS method Keep It

guitar port or toneport?
So i am planning on asking for the guitarport rifftracker package for my christmas, but then i read a little bit about the new toneport on the line6 website. I want something that will give me good, easy computer recording at home, and on a laptop when i get one. So would the toneport or guitarport be better? and as far as i understand, the toneport is just like the guitarport but it works for bass and vocals too? or is there more to it? what can you guys tell me?

Pickup choices 3 humbucking design?
I have a guitar in the works with Michael Charvel that we're going to put three humbuckings in. After discussion he suggested a switching system whereby each pickup has a 3 pos switch so I can choose the status of any of them at any time. Full-off-tapped. PLus a quot;blowerquot; switch that will get me to the bridge full or back to whatever setup the guitar is currently in via the three switches. I am looking for a set of pickups that will (as close as possible) mimmic the classic guitar tones, plus hopefully some I have yet to discover. Alder body maple neck rosewood board. I was thinking, 59 stag 59. But frankly I'm not sure. Don't wan to end up with a bucket of expensive pickups trying to figure it out. I have a 69 100 watt plexi super lead done over buy Todd Langner, so I have plenty of gain. I'm looking for pickups with character and clarity. Need this thing as a main guitar, once I get used to one, it's hard for my to get used to another. My current Wayne has a JB and a Duckbucker, and I gotta say the pos 2 strat tone is outstanding. I would like to duplicate it, but not sure the stag mag wil do the trick. Just don't know, looking for a little info. I thank you very much for the time. Curt Mitchell.

Opinions on quot;Insanequot; setting on Line 6 amps
I recently bought one of those little Line 6 spider amps after noodling around with it in a music store. The quot;insanequot; setting sounded very cool with ridiculous sustain and distortion, really pretty nuts sounding.

Fender Bassman '59 reissue
Does anyone have much experiance with this amp? I can get one for £500 ($950 approx.) used. Bearing in mind that everything has about at least a 15/20% markup price in the U.K, is this a good price?

2x12 speaker cabinet
I'm looking at 2X12 cabinets - reasonably priced - good quality. Right now it's between an avatar G212H special and the ear candy vagabond v212. Avatar has the better price by about 70-80 bucks. Does anyone know how they compare as far as sound? I need something for an old traynor 80-90 watt yba1-a and suggestions advice would be appreciated

One more Valvetronix tube question
So you guys have got me trying to be very discriminating with my VTH60 now, and my current aim with the amp is to improve the cleans to whatever degree I can. I'm trying to remove some high end harshness I am noticing. I can improve it some with an equalizer in the loop, but if a tube swap will smooth it out, I'm all for it. Based on that objective, what tube would you recommend??
