im getting a hotrail installed on my strat..will the 250k pot make it too muddy or will it be ok

Its all a matter of taste. I prefer a 250k for my humbuckers, but traditionally, 500's would be used. Since you already have the 250 in there, I'd wire it up with that and see how you like it. You can always change to a 500k later.

Also, I can show you a neat trick to make the volume control 500k only when the Hot Rails is selected by itself.

In every other position, the pups quot;seequot; a 250k pot.

btw - I threw that together real quick. It only shows one tone control, connected like the 50's mod.

250k on the Hotrails will be mud city, Artie's schematic should fix that.

thats probably my problem too. Either that or i've got a bridge hot rails in the neck spot

is it possible to make it so that i have 500k vol pot for bridge and middle and 250 for neck pichup??? (i have a h-h-s setup)
