Les Pauls and nickel covers..
Hi all! I have a '57 reissue Gold top. I swapped out the stock Burstbuckers for a nickel covered JB at the bridge and Jazz at the neck. I swapped out the Burstbuckers because they were just too bright. Ive now got the same issue with the JB. In my Strats, I use a Hot Rails and a Custom Custom and LOVE the tone I get with those p'ups! Would it be wise then to order a Custom Custom with the nickel cover? Or is the cover causing all that brightness I dont want?
Any ideas??

pickup comments please
Ok heres what i got im completely redoing my stratocaster its got a mapel body or could be alder (but i dont think so) and im looking for pickups. 3 singels im looking for a pickup that can give a sound simliar to that of Steve Wilson from Porcupine Tree (if any one has heard of them) and jimi hendrix. The stuff i really want to avoid is a pickup for thrash and any kind of metal.

Ok lets try this again...backtracks.
Here is the link to the tracks that I have found here and there, a big thanks to all who has made them, it is awesome work, and it would be good to remember that.
I hope to get a workstation like Marin soon, as I really would love to make my own tracks.

Help! I have a tone issue
Ok guys I have a squire strat, and I bought a cool rails that I installed normally in the bridge position. The thing sounds awesome when you first pick the string but after a second it just seems to crap out or go flat. The original pickup did this as well and I was hoping the new one would fix the problem. Now I'm wondering if I've got the height wrong, or maybe the adjustable saddle is not set up correctly. I'm kind of new to all this pickup stuff and could use some ideas.

Tried a Fneder Hot Rod with my Satch the other day...
Hey guys. I Hung out at the store after my lesson on Thursday and tried out a Fender HRD with my JS1000BP. At first I tried the clean channel with an Ibanez Turbo Screamer. That really didn't do the trick. Then I tried it on the OD Channel with the same pedal, and that still didn't do the trick. Then my friend who works at the store brought over a Digitech Metal quot;somethingquot; pedal, it was about 100 bucks if that helps you. That totally did the trick. That pedal sounded awesome with my guitar and that Fender. I didn't even tweak the amp at all and I was well pleased with the tones I was getting. I never realized how much more sustain you get out of a real amp versus a modeling/solid state amp like mine. I know that with some tweaking and some other good pedals, that Fender HRD has some high potential for being a shredding amp. I'm looking towards that amp because more than anything, I need good cleans. Anyone have any pedals that they could suggest, that really make the Fender HRD shine? You guys should totally check this thing out!
