Been messing around with various pickup combinations on a Fender Jaguar (That plays and looks nice - NO BRIDGE problems either)
Came up with the following combination of pups and wiring...
Strat style SL59-1 little #8216;59 in the bridge
Strat style SJBJ-1 jb jr in the neck
NOW for the goodies...
EMG SPC quot;Strat Presence Controlquot; and EMG EXG quot;Guitar Expanderquot; located in the normal Jaguar LEAD Volume and Tone cavity, with the NEW Volume located in the old Jaguar RYTHYM volume control area.
The Jaguar's normal lead and rythym switch has been rewired to switch between the '59 and jb-jr or use both together and the old Jaguar (three) Lead pup selectors have been rewired to select between Phasing, Series or Parallel wiring.
I have had several guitar slingers in Houston play it and all are like WOW, can you do this for me?
This set up is HOT HOT HOT, without distortion and plays from clear as a bell to that Dwayne Allman 'Live at the Fillmore' killer tone.
PLUS side, no more grounding to the bridge and no HUM to boot.
