Im REALLY intrested in this guitar, Considering ill never have $1000 to spend on a wolfgang, this looks to be a good alternative.

Has anyone had any experence with thies?

from : localhost/With all their signature models, they make me a little leary.

Thanks for posting that! I was thinking a while back that the OLP's would be great if they only had a model with a floyd! I would buy one if i was looking at a cheap floyd guitar. There necks feel great!!! I'm also looking at the great OLP Double Neck. A guy i know let me hold and play his OLP Double Neck and it feels good.

I may end up with one of those OLP Floyd guitars......

Flet good when I played one

That's a licensed model (made out of country) of the Axis design (which EVH later picked out of a database), and not the Wolfgang.

the OLP stuff is made by BC Rich, and IMO for the price is pretty good! Ed Roman (love him or hate him) is selling hot rodded MM-1's...they have an ORF with matching nut, high quality electronics, better tuners, a killer set up, fret dress, and you choice of any Dincan pickups for less that $500.00, and IMO it is a hard deal to beat. If I were on the market for a Floyd Rose axe I would snap up one of the Roman OLP's in a second!

How does it stack up in quality? Will it be anywhere close to my platium pro?

And it quot;looksquot; like a wolfgang, thats why i called it a knock off.
And my platium pro has a licensed FR on it, and its great, i dont know why everyone says they suck.

Oh? Its made by BC Rich? Even BC Rich's $100 guitars sound good and play excellent. I own one.

Now theres a question, gold quilt top or sunburst?Could i have a link for the quot;Hotroddedquot; versions?

When one of the pictures on the website that you can enlarge is this one ...

from : localhost/... Hrmmm I don't know about you guys but there are a number of things in that picture that make me cringe

Yea, thats why i came here asking about it, it looks like it has uneven fretwork, a bent strap lock, and the hole for the neck isnt even.

i think the frets, and the hole for the neck look off because of the low quality picture. and the straphook might be intentional.

here is the link to the rodded OLP's!

The frets are different, esp #14 amp; 15, correct?

And some dumbsh*t put one cream coil amp; one black one on the pickup.

I just looked at the modded ones, i was considering $449 for an OFR with all that stuff, but $650, haha, No.

Chances are, ill just get a stock one, How much does a place charge to do that kinda fret work? I dont picture it being $200. (If its even needed, which, if its actually made by BC Rich, i doubt it would.)

Ya I am definately thinkin this guitar is cool! My local shop carries OLP, but he never has many guitars in. I could have him order one though. I'm now down to a Squier Strat to mod the crap out of, a Peavey Predator Plus EXP, or this. Maybe if i traded in my old dust-collecting walmart guitar i could get like 10 bucks off it! LOL

Oh ya, i've also played some of the non-floyd mm1s and they are really good for $200. I just never bought them because of the absence of the double locking trem. Will an OFR fit the licensed trem's mount holes?

I would get this over a squier any day of the week,

Hows ths stock pickups in thies things? cause i doubt i can afford to change em.

In the standard mm-1s they are kinda lacking in bass ands mids maybe. They are pretty bright. Nice and crunchy though. This was nearly a year ago when i played it though. I compared it side by side with my Dean Evo. And the Evo was richer, fuller, with more tone. It didnt have the crunch and brightness though.

Thies have been around for a year?

The floyd models are relatively new, but they had a standard fender-type trem version thats been out for a few years.

I got my MM-4 last year for $99 off musiciansfriend.com (refurb. sounds better after it was set-up, and the electronics were beefed up). they've been around a while.

Those $200 OLP's are surprisingly good for the money, although you should consider digging deeper into your pocket for a higher dollar guitar being sacrificed, used.
The Tribute Gamp;L's and 90's DeArmonds are some of the best 'cheap' guitars.
