I guess if you practice long and hard enough nothing is impossible. Do any of you guys know who this is?

Double neck Bach!!

awesome!

**cue Bill and Ted style air guitar trills**

Adam Fulara... I'll have seen it before, it's very impressive.

There's many more vids on his site. Just google his name and you'll find it

I agree, wow! ... but then I have to ask, why? There are so many instruments so much better adapted to this music. And to have a guitar especially made for just this music - I mean the guitar is absolutely useless for anything else... looks like a case of more money than brains to me

Okay, I'm done.....I quit.....

I would if I could!!!! I really don't think lack of quot;brainsquot; is this guys issue....obviously!!! LOL Personally I really dig what he's doing. Sounds pretty good!!

Good point... I didn't really mean what I said about quot;brainsquot; - just a stupid phrase taken too far... but really - as good as he is - this is really just interesting for other guitar players. It doesn't show off this piece of music as well as a keyboard could. It's just musical self-indulgence.

And I still shake my head at that guitar. You can't play that top neck with any other style... proably not the first time a musical instrument was built for just one piece of music. Just strange, I guess.

That's his style.. If you check the site you'll find videos of him jamming with a jazz band, playing the chords with one hand and leads with the other

Reminds me of Michael Angelo Batio.

that is just insane!! ...

are both necks strung as a traditional guitar?

t4d

edit: he (kinda) explains his tuning on his website ... neither neck is traditional

Okay... then, that makes sense - sorry... I am now suitably impressed.

actaully, if you think about it, its like playing a vertical piano.

bet that guy sure plays a mean pinball...

Pretty neat party trick.

Reminds me of guys playing the chapman stick. Saw a guy in Santa Monica playing a stick on the 3rd street Promanade. I was impressed, bought his CD and e-mailed a cut to my brother a bass player. My brothers' comments were basically quot;okay but what is the pointquot;. If you play traditionally the lines are much better articulated, timing is better, dynamics are better;the end product is simply better. If I were buying a cd to listen to, would I rather have the piece played by two players or double tracked vs having it done one take in this manner? It definitely is impressive and beyond anything I could ever do (I can't play piano either ) , but as far as an instrument/technique to record a quality piece of music???

I don't know if I agree with you on that one. If you're a racecar driver do you say oh f*ck this car it only goes fast! No, you take it for what it is and use it for what it's meant for. I'm willing to bet that kid makes a good living playing what he does and could play any guitar, but he had one built so he could do his thing with it...because that's what he does.

All I can say is that I truely believe that people with that kind of talent have been given a gift from God.
