Where can I find info on the SD Iommi pick ups?

Do they have a version for the neck as well?

I was looking into Iommi's also, thought these were of Gibson manufacture
though ?!?

SD do makes Iommi pups, but they are custom shop only (pls correct me if i am wrong). they come stock on kevin bonds jackson signature guitars.

gibson makes Iommi pups, available in the market with chrome, gold or black covers. these come stock in epi and gibson iommi signature guitars.

cant answer dat cos i only played with the gibsons. they sound aggresive yet holds intonation well. not buzzsawish at all. has a good amount of bass.good for fattenin up the sound of an SG.

One previuos poster mentioned that the SD Iommi pickup as being bass and treble heavy, with scooped mids. If you take a listen to the album, quot;A Lethal Dose of American Hatredquot; by Superjoint Ritual, you will find Kevin Bond's sound to be just that. Thrashy, rapid and in your face.

The Gibson Iommi is smooth/defined/powerful, with tight bass and very lively, yet spike-free mids to highs.

You want to do a quot;Searchquot;.

so the main diffrence in SD Iommi vs Gibson Iommi is in the mids?
also are you sure that the mids in the gibson iommi are not from the SG
i believe that the SG is supposed to be very middy

Isn't the SD Iommi basically a 'bucker sized Hot Rails?

actually im pretty sure phil anselmo records all the guitars for SJR

i was just wondering about the diffrences if you were to put a Gibson iommi in a guitar and compaired it with a SD Iommi in that same guitar
how about output wise are they very similar

This is where I saw them and they look like Bill Lawrence pick ups with the rails.

can anyone answer my question?

I have a set in a hard ash strat with maple neck. I have them in the bridge and middle positions. I am not sold on them. They sound like NEW Sabbath rather than old Sabbath. They are very scooped. Imagine this eq curve on a graphic eq. XXX__________XXX. It is a good pickup for slow and heavy music but the problem I have is that it gets lost in a mix. When I play to recorded music it gets lost in the drums. It might do well if you are a single guitarist in something powerfull and minimalist like Cult Of Luna or High On Fire.

As usual SD's photo upload doesn't work.

I have the Gibson Iommi in my Epi LP. I think the wood/pickup thing is overhyped.

If there are differences in the output, turn up your amp.

You may also want to use the quot;searchquot; function if you have not already.
