Boss Spectrum?
The old Boss Spectrum pedals are like fixed wahs, right? I found out one of my favorite guitarists used one on one of my favorite recordings. They're not made anymore so they're quite expensive when you find them on Ebay etc. I'm wondering if a Dunlop Q Zone willl get me in that ballpark. I need some sort of filter that will give me a boosted honk for leads. I think Keeley Electronics makes something similar as well. I just don't want to buy a wah pedal and have to do it the old fashioned way, I'd prefer a set it and forget pedal.

Report:MusicMan sounding Great!
Just wanted to report that my MusicMan 212HD is up and sounding outsanding (yep, I'm a happy camper).Went to Scott F's and we went through a bunch of trouble and different speakers before getting it able to take home. We were going to put a V30/G12H30 combo in it, but due to the v30 having cone cry and the high power rating of the amp (130w) setteled on a couple of Texas Heats. He also tweaked my Les Paul which playes great now. After playing all day, I forgat how good this amp is. I played loud, soft, claen, dirty and even used a cheep distortion pedal I had from the old days and it took everything I threw at it. Scott had to replace the 12AX7 preamo tube, but the EL34/6CA7 Mallory tubes are the original ones and they are working perfectly. The Texas Heats seem to be a perfect match for the amp.I haven't been palying for along time and this amp has been down for 15yrs. It still needs alittle love to be quot;wholequot; but it is rocking like it used too!The Les Paul and amp were bought together back in 1978 and today, they were back together in a happy union.Sorry for the long post but I just wanted to let whoever reads this post and is looking for a good neutral amp that will play clean, dirty and play after being drug all over the country, (to include setting out in the garage for the last 7yrs), and come out playing with on the first kick. your going to have a hard time beating the MusicMan.Thanks Scott. and thanks all the forum members for getting me inspired to get back at it.

How does a variac affect the sound of an amp?
I posted this in the wrong section yesterday but I know that a variac can increase or decrease the voltage going into the amp but what sound differences would there be for both increasing and decreasing the voltage? Also, I heard they were bad for the amp what would happen by running it at lower or higher voltage than normal?

The worksman D tuner... riiiight...
Ok I had seen many people say 'eh look, when you tune your Floyd, tighten the E string fine tuner all the way up (tight) this way when you want to drop the string, just down tune on the fine tuner all the way'

Quality of Warmoth wood
Looking at a semi-hollow Strat body somewhere down the line. For those with a lot of experience and a good ear for a piece of tone-wood, how do you rate Warmoth's wood?

F/S Fender SSS Showmaster
Hey guys.....since i can't sell off my ric, here's my fender showmaster up for sale. Made in 2004. It's a maple setneck into a basswood body with a flamed swampash cap. It's still in near mint condition with no dings or whatever. Just buckle scratches in the back, nothing the penetrates the finish though. It comes loaded with lace hot gold pickups and the guitar plays and sound incredible. Here's a couple of vids of me playing the guitar recorded not too long ago...
