I have 2 columns of figures, 2005 data and 2006 data. The data is entered in
monthly columns by day of the month. If March 2006 has 4 days of data
entered, I want to sum the same 4 days of 2005 data so I can eventually graph
it. The number of days will go up every time data is entered, and not all
days will have
data in them. The range of days in 2005 to sum will change any time a day
of data is entered into 2006.
Hello JimR

Because you’ve given no explanation for the location and relationship
between columns I can only guess at what your data might look like.
However, this might help you out.

=SUM(INDIRECT(quot;A5:quot;amp;LEFT(ADDRESS(1,DAY(TODAY()),4) ,IF(DAY(TODAY())lt;27,1,2))amp;65536))

Paste this formula anywhere above row 5, will sum columns per day for a
month.
