I need to be able to add all the previous sheets that have a specific
text in a certain cell. For example:

Cell B12 contains a three letter reference. I want to know how many
previous sheets have the same reference.

However I do not want to know how many there are in total in the
worksheet, otherwise all the sheets will return the same number. Does
that make sense?????

So if Sheet 5 B12 reads quot;TSSquot; and two earlier sheets also read quot;TSSquot; in
the same cell, I need the number quot;3quot; returned. If I then insert quot;TSSquot; in
sheet 8, I need sheet 5 to still read quot;3quot; and sheet 8 to now read quot;4quot;.

??????? complicated I think.....

Basically I am making an invoicing sheet that numbers a client's
invoices rather than numbering them all globally.
