I know with half stacks you put the attenuater between the head and cab. Is it possible to use a hotplate or other attenuater with a tube combo? If so how would it work? thanks in advance.

Dean TC Caddy
I bought this guitar about 2 months ago for $1800.00 and I may have to sell it to replace some photo equipment. Guitar has a mahogany body/neck with a flat maple top and an ebony board with crazy abalone block inlays, hardware is Tone Pro. Pickups are Dimarzio SD in the bridge and Dimarzio PAF's in the neck and middle positions. Neck profile is a very comfortable V shape that helps prevent hand fatigue, upper fret access is fantastic. If it comes down to me selling this guitar the asking price is $1400.00, there is a Dean hardshell case included as well.

Intonation question.
Maybe intonation isn't the best word from a guitar standpoint, but when I hit a low E on my Epi Les Paul, it is sharp for a bit then settles into pitch. I know that this is going to happen no matter what, but how can I minimize this? I currently have it strung with 11-49 Elixirs, tuned to standard tuning. My picking style can be very hash at times, if I gently strum an E chord it is in tune, but if I hit it, it's all over the place then falls in.

dimebucker in alder/maple strat...
well, i was messing around with my podXT (mesa recto setting) the other day trying to find a recording sound i like and did this real quick/short one take drop D clip of my dimebucker in an alder body all maple neck with a vintage trem strat. it's real real real thick...almost too thick. i actually had to lower the bass in cool edit b/c my sub was going nuts lol. anyway, people pm'd me asking about it so i figured why not post it...it's nothing amazing at all, it's just showing how thick the dimebucker in alder/maple can be with some eq work and the right amp...

My first bass comp.....
It's intentionally ambient, so don't expect me to be rockin' out or anything..... from : localhost/home.cogeco.ca/~screamingdais...01-Mixdown.mp3There's two glaring mistakes in it, but I was doing this for fun so I didn't feel the need to clean them up.Comments?

My other guitarist gets killer tone from gibson pickups.
I haven't identified the neck gibson pickup yet but the bridge is a '57 classic. He's got them in his Epiphone Riviera semi hollow. And for a relatively inexpensive guitar and leftover pickups from a les paul that were just thrown in the guitar, he gets some kick ass tone. He's mainly a jazz/fusion guy but plays some hard rock and metal as well, we really combine multiple genres in our playing as to not pigeonhole ourselves and be kind of unique. One tune we are working on now is a straight up blues shuffle which turns into a reggae funk rhythm into a heavy metal solo section and back into a hot blues/jazz part. It's really cool.
