Hey guys. Is it me or my guitar? I can't seem to do any full bends up untill UI play around the higher frets, and even then it's hard. I'm only able to do it with the Be and E strings, and when i try with the G string my finger tiops ALWAYS grab the D string and then play that string to by accident, unless I push my finger tips underneath the D string. When I try doing bends around the fith to nineth fret, the strings are just tooooo stiff and dont give way. I'm using 9 guage strings, and my bridge is prety damn flush with the body of the guitar. Do I need a new setup done, or am I really weak? If I remember correctly I used to be able to bends just fine, but it's been a while since this issue started and I never really paid any mind to it. Any advice?

custom tele control plates?
anyone know where to get a custom chrome tele control plate with either no holes at all (i'll drill them) or just one volume knob hole or just a volume and tone hole....basically anything without a switch slot. anyone ever see that? i've only seen them used on custom shop fenders but can't find an aftermarket place to get something like that. any help would be great. thanks.

I'm working on a new versatile guitar : )
I've been thinking of a quot;dreamquot; guitar so to speak. I think I may be onto something here (I could always use some input ). I'm thinking of a tele style alder guitar with a Tonepros style bridge and a maple/brazilian rosewood neck. I figure this wood combination should give me the ability to put just about anything in there and it'll still sound good (I'd do mahogany/maple like on the Grosh, but I'd prefer the lighter weight and plain look).

ordering frets
OK buildiers and repair guys..... I have a few questions about frets. I ordered StewMac's version of 6105's and they are smaller then the 6105's on my Warmoth neck.... I would assume StewMac's largest size frets would be smaller then that found on a Jackson since Stewmacs are not true Dunlop sizes.... Are Jackson's frets bigger then 6100's?

Help with wiring/installing pickups
I recently bought a 86 Hamer chapparal custom which comes not with the classic 5way pickup selector but with a system of 3 separate switches(one for each pickup) that are giving various combinations of pickups and series/parallel wiring. Here's a photo of the guitar so you can see the switches:

quot;Ice Cream Manquot; Van Halen 5150 combo clip
Here's a clip of the very beginning rhythm part of Ice Cream Man, the part when the band kicks in. For those of you who heard my quot;Everybody Wants Somequot; clip, when i recorded it i had also recorded a portion of quot;Ice Cream Manquot; onto the same Cakewalk project file but i didn't mix it in with that first clip. I gave it another listen today and for some reason it sounds better to my ears than it did when i first recorded it. I never learned the song the right way so i didn't play it like Ed does on the album or try to copy the exact sound at all, just curious to see how the combo and marshall cab would sound playing along with a VH 1 song. I'm pretty blown away and never expected this amp to sound good with that album. As always, i took out Eds guitar and recorded mine in. It was recorded on the same day as the Everybody Wants Some clip so it's the identical setup. Let me know what you think of the combo with this song. Don't shoot me but it's another very short clip.
