I had my Custom/59 hybred installed in my LP and I have to say I was surprised at how much crunch I got compared to the output which is medium. The pickup doesn't compress and and is open and clear, the sound also has some grit to it which keeps it from getting to round sounding. I would say that this pickup fills a gap that Duncan has not filled in it's line up, anything thay have above PAF type output seems to compress to much and jam the frequencies together. (To my ears anyway.) If you are looking for a different sound and don't want to pay quot;boutiquequot; prices contact Bachtorock and order one of his hybreds (he makes several), make sure you specify the magnet that will work best in the guitar/rig it will be used with. I added the last line because I have a bright guitar and got an A5 magnet when I should have known better and got an A2, live and learn to address the details before ordering! Peter is a great guy to deal with and his turn around is quick, and most important his prices are very reasonable.

Need a little install advice...little 59 into Strat bridge
After some homework and lots of forums research, I am about to put a little '59 into the bridge position of my Am Standard Strat. The other pickups and all wiring is currently standard as made in 2003.

What IS output?
I was wondering this. The more coil = the more resistance = the more output right? So I guess that a volume pot is a resistor that gives less resistance as you turn it UP and more as you turn it down (or else it'd make little sense...) and the tone pot is the same, but it only does it to the higher frequencies.

Help with mounting a JB Jr.
Hi,
I have a stratocaster and I am planning on getting a JB Jr. and mount it on the bridge. I am just wondering, will i mount it straight up and modify my pick guard? or mount it slanted just the way a stratocaster's bridge pick up is mounted?

Finally Played a Triple X
I am in the Sacramento area this weekend, with my daughter. We popped in to a little music store yesterday. In the amp room there was a Triple X Peavey half stack. I played an ESP double cut guitar with a JB pickup in the bridge.
First of all, this amp begs to be cranked. It does have a good quot;high gainquot; tone with very tight bass response. It was a little too gainy for me, in a preamp saturation kind of way. I still thought it was fun to play, especially when I cranked it! Some of the kids in the store came over and said quot;dude that rocksquot; My daughter thought that was pretty funny. I played some Offspring and Hendrix for them.. on high gain of course I think that a single coil guitar would sound killer through the triple x, but I didn't have much time to play
