well, i was messing around with my podXT (mesa recto setting) the other day trying to find a recording sound i like and did this real quick/short one take drop D clip of my dimebucker in an alder body all maple neck with a vintage trem strat. it's real real real thick...almost too thick. i actually had to lower the bass in cool edit b/c my sub was going nuts lol. anyway, people pm'd me asking about it so i figured why not post it...it's nothing amazing at all, it's just showing how thick the dimebucker in alder/maple can be with some eq work and the right amp...

oh and as you listen keep in mind...who needs a damn bass player lol...

from : localhost/this is not a les paul lol. i'm also still looking for a good recording sound b/c this may be a bit much lol.

****ing hails Excessive
very good clip..
try adjust the same clip in a SLO 100 with a tubescreamer and a little reverb
it will sound killer.

its awesome, its thick, it heavy, I LOVE IT!!!(those are about the only things i didnt tell you in my PM IIRC)

thanks for the props guys!

i was just fooling around with this sound and found it funny that a little ol' alder/maple strat could sound that massive. so i figured why not post it to scare others lol.

-Mike

That was raw!

Reminded me a lot of Rage - Unity. Victor Smolski at his best

Thickness!!!!!!!!

100 views and 4 guys respond lol...well thanks you guys who did!!

-Mike

Sounds cool, thick very thick. I could never imagine that Alder body strat can sound like this.

wow. that sounds friggin awesome!

Hmmmm... Maybe I'll do this with my Strat.

The first thing I thought.......sounds like my Les Paul with the 85!

this sounds f***in rad, thanks for the clip dude i plan on getting one of these guys in my bridge

It sucks!!!

I love messing with you Mike. Yeah pretty surprising you could get some grind like that from alder - maple/maple

Love the sound. And it was a cool riff as well. Dimebucker, eh?

thanks...that's my zakk wylde impression hahaha well sorta lol. i actually took the dime out of the strat and put in a dimarzio breed and so far i think i like the breed better so i may give the dime a try in one of my les pauls and see what it can do there.

thanks everyone.

-Mike

can you put a sound clip of the dimebucker in the les paul in here too?

!!!!

It sounds go thick, it's amazing. I literally thought it was a les paul. Goes to show that most guitars can dish out whatever tones when properly set. I need to get myself a POD XT.

(Could you post a clip with the same settings but with the Fender Esquire GT w/JB?)

Cool riff! The Dimebucker is one of the few I haven't tried or owned. I should find a place for one of them in one of my guitars.

GJ...thanks for the compliment on the riff!! as for the dime, it's a cool pickup and you should give it a try sometime but it does have that edge to it that needs to be toned down a bit as i mentioned before.

-Mike

pretty damn cool. .....but my invader in my alder/maple/maple guitar can go heavier! haha. ill make a recording sometime and try to 1-up you ;D
