Ok, as you all know I've been looking for a HB for my strat (and incase you didnt.... from : localhost//forum/showthread.php?t=46235 )

Ok, so heres what I think I'm going to do:

-Buy the SD Custom (seems like what I want, thanks for everyone who helped...I'm just oging to bite the bullet and buy it instead of changing my mind inbetween which custom)
-Buy a s/s/h pickguard (are they all pretty much the same?, I just want a basic white 3-ply)
-Get 2nd tone knob wired to bridge pickup and install a 500K pot in it.
-Change the second tone knob to a black one I beleive thats it, thanks for everyone who helped me....This will be done in September.

Also, should I get a reg. version or the Trembucker Version?

And would it be really bright in my strat with a 500k pot?? Or should I keep my 250k to knock down the brightness?

Assuming it's a V-Trem of some sort, I'd get a trem spaced humbucker. As far as the pot, experiment! Pots are cheap, and strats are the easiest guitars to work on. Try them both, and see where you like it.

The guitar in your avatar is so secksy, man. Is it yours?

When you're buying a pickguard be careful.Mexican and american strats sometimes have the screws in different places,so if yours is american make sure you get an american pickguard. The custom's a good choice by the way,I'm going for a custom custom in my strat.I really liked the custom but i prefer the cleans on non-ceramic magnets and clean sound is very important to me.

Thanks guys. And if I have nno tone pot, will it sound liek it did when it was on quot;10quot;?

Actually, a touch quot;morequot;.

Ok, thanks.

With the 500K you will have more darkening ability, but the pup will sound clearer/brighter/whatever. I think it's the way to go, without a tone pot you are setting yourself up for bleeding ears in my opinion.

Luke

I menat no tone pot for middle pup (although I found a nice clean tone with the neck/middle pup with the midle pup's tone on about 7)
I think I'm goign to wire the second tone knob to my bridge pup...and I never use my neck pup's tone knob (always on 10) and I do wsh it was just a touch brighter, so I may even wire my first tone knob to the middle pup.

Thanks alot guys...I'll prob order the pickguard earlier from Fender.
