HEY ALL of you out there who've used a Carvin Nomad

Any reviews and feedbacks ?
I thought of getting one to replace my Marshall amps.
Currently using Gibson guitars, will Carvin make it a difference ?

I tested it and find it better than a DSL 401

God bless and have a GREAT DAY

You'll end up hating it before long and wished you didn't sell your marshall.

Serious ?!@#

Man .. what happened ?
Care to share about your review and story ??
Or its just a figure of speech that a Carvin is good enough

GREATLY appreciate it
Thanks !!!

I've got a Vintage 33, which is like Nomad but 33 watts. It's got the hasserlmods, JJ tubes and switched speaker. I also have a modded Marshall 1959 SLP. Even running the Carvin into a 4x12, it's not the same animal or anywhere close. If you are looking to add a different sounding amp you'll be pleased, but replacing the Marshall will be worse than a bad hair day!

Gosh ... I just sold off a Marshall valvestate 40
what have I done ..
But i have not gotten the Carvin. So i'll just settle for the JCM 900 which I just posted not long ago ..

Look into the Crate VFX5112 or the Traynor YCV50blue. Both are killer amps for not a lot of money. I highly recommend after using them both. The only carvin amp I've ever liked is the Legacy which I own and I have a love/hate relationship with it anyway. To me their amps just sound pretty lifeless and awful. You shouldn't have to mod an amp to make it sound decent.

For similar money, I agree with Xeromus about the Traynor.

Here's a link for info.

Looks like the Carvin isn't everybody's fav afterall. I mean, not to say that Carvin is a bad amp, but the higher end ones looks more promising instead. =)
Well, I'll just stick to the JCM 900
Thanks once again guys

I think that traynor amp would kill the JCM900 hands down, and it's around 600 bucks.

I gotta admit that my local stores here don't sell Traynor amps. The highest end and availalble upon request I've seen so far are MESA and Rivera amps. Marshall, Fender amps , Crate, Trace Elliot and Laney are the most available in stock. Oh well, if any of you guys are among the Traynor agents prolly you could gimme a catalog a price to highnoon04@hotmail.com

Thanks once again to all who contributed and going to.

I ordered the YCV50 blindly off the internet and it was one of the best purchaces I have ever made. This thing absolutely rocks, balls to the wall, at any volume. It sound better than nearly all solid state amps even at low volumes, and it can flat out crank for such a little guy. It was a little ice-picky at first, but once the Vintage 30 gets worn it, it's abosolutely tonal bliss. The gain channel takes you from cranked Plexi to low volume JCM 800. Kick in the boost, crank the channel volume and gain, and you're in JCM 900 territory. Plus, the cleans are (to my ears) at least as good as a Fender Hot Rod with more headroom.

Looks like the Traynors are getting alotta attention around lately.

=)
