(And yes, I know that the right way to get the Strato tone is with single coils proper. To sum up a long history, guitars in my country are about as heavy in your pocket as some lower-end automobiles in the US, so basically I need to choose one guitar and make the most of it, hence the question in topic)

Mates considering bass multi-effects, which ones better??

I'm looking for APH-2 pickups in either zebra or chrome covered. Neck or bridge is fine (or both). For trade, I've got a Dimebucker, 2 Distortions (both bridge), a CC, Quarter Pound Flat, and 3 Jackson humbuckers. Also willing to buy. Thanks a bunch.

Now I have a Custom in my HH strat and I dont like it very much. I`m looking for a warmer tone. I have read that Custom Custom would be killer but I`m quite afraid of its` not so good bottom because I use palm muted chords sometimes.

I was going to PM you but I wasnt sure how your username was spelled ... ya,

I've heard a lot of sound clips on these boards and I'd like to make my own. What do I need in order to do this? Meaning I'd need backing music like drums and bass, and then I'd lay my own guitar tracks down. The backing music could either be from a recording where I can strip off the guitar and add my own (preferably), or pre-recorded. The problem is I'm not sure what I need! Is it a mixer, something to record with like one of the TASCAM things, etc.? Any recommendations would be appreciated. I am fairly computer savvy, and all of my stuff is midi/direct recordable I believe.
