How 'bout a Double Fat Strat with Phat Cats?
Hi All?
How do you fellas think my ash bodied hardtail Fat Strat would sound with a set of Phat Cats in it? I love the P-90 sound of my Godin LG but I wonder if the ash would be to bright? Any one ever heard a set in ash?

JB or C5 for my strat?
I've got a (rosewood fretboard) strat with texas specials in neck and middle position. I currently have a Duncan Distortion in the bridge, which is an obvious mismatch, but thats all I had to put in at that time.

Head vs. Rack for me (?VHT?)
I've been planning for next year and I could be in for a bigger purchase. I've been thinking of updating my amp selection, I currently have a Boss GT-3, a Laney TF-300, a Line6 PodXT and a Marshall JCM800, I guess that it's the 2205 model. When at home, I either run straight into the Pod or through that to the Laney. When training, I either use the boss/laney setup or straight to the Marshall. I'm not really 100% keen on any of the tones I'm getting now.

older '59
I just purchased an older SD '59 bridge pickup. I know that most pickups have color-coded wires that are easy to identify when installing them into guitars. I'm putting it into a semi-hollow Oscar Schmidt guitar. When I got the pickup In noticed that it only has one wire. i'm hoping that maybe someone can shed some light on my question of how to install it, because usually there are three wires in guitars that connect to the pickup. One for volume, tone, and ?. If anyone has any suggestions/answers they would be well appreciated. Thanks

Suggestions on rewinding Nighthawk bridge pup
I think I'm going to get the bridge pickup in my Nighthawk rewound. It is just not doing it for me. To my ears it is weak, lacks character, and lacks the dynamics I want. I just want to get some suggestions on what you guys think would be good for me, and what you guys like. I love the JB, but I'm not sure I want another one. This is my #2 guitar and I'm looking for something different. I was think about getting it rewound to '59 specs, but I have yet to play a '59b. I used to have a Demon though- pretty close, right? I have no experience the Customs, or much else. I pretty much stick with what I like, but I want something different.

Page/Clapton/Beck....and Peter Green?
I was wondering if anyone out there, especially cats like Lew who saw these guys play in the 60's and 70's, would rank Green (in his heyday) with the holy British trio? Page/Clapton/Beck always get mentioned as the end all/be all's of the British blues/rock thing, but I think Peter Green deserves to be on this plane as well. If he had kept his S*#t together I think his best days were to come.
Check out the Fleetwood Mac Live in Boston series CD's...the man can play.
