Ok, the BB's are on their way out. I'm really wanting to make this guitar as vintage and authentic as possible. It has aged hardware, so I am almost sold on Antiquities for it. I'll go with a standard Antiquity neck. However, I want a little more from the bridge position. I still want to retain a vintage sound, but it needs to have just a little something extra....

I seem run away from the Vs, but I like II for the neck and Ceramic for the bridge. One dark neck pickup, one bright bridge pickup, but they still seem to work okay.

I've got a Gibson Tony Iommi pickup in gold... Is there any way I can strip off the gold plating and make it silver? I don't want to do anything too drastic.

I just installed a new SD Custom in the bridge position and an APH-1(b) in the neck. (I know, the APH-1(b) is a bridge pup, I didn't know!). It all seems good except I get alot of noise when I take my hands off of the strings. All the guts are new, I'm including pics and a PDF of my schematics. Any input on a possible cure is greatly appreciated.
Schematics There's no problem... when you touch the string, it grounds the guitar, thus negating most of the noise. There's no getting passed it with passive pickups.

I want to try something different, so I decided to get a ukulele. This allows me to play something at night or when my guitar is not with me/ in the repair shop. Do any of you have any experience with using them before? I looking for a new one around $30-50. If any of you know of any good starter websites that would be great too. I just changed pups in my PRS Custom 22- I now have a EVH bridge and a Pearly Gates (bridge) in the neck, and thats a really nice sounding combination. I wasn't to happy with the EVH in my warmoth strat (mahogany/ maple top) , but it totally rocks in the PRS. And, it seems as though the Dragon II also works better in the warmoth. Its strange how one pup wont work in one guitar but kicks ars in another. The EVH is bright, but not too much, and the Pearly is a great match. Just rambling

wow I just read on a magazine about these german guitars. check them out. They make a monocoque, quot;a thin shell of carbon replacing woodquot;. its interesting. since they mention the duncans, I thing this thread fits here all right.
