I've got a Mesa DC-5 head and 4 x 12 cab with Celestion Vintage 30s. My understanding is that the clean (rhythm) channel is supposed to emulate the Mark IV's circuitry while the crunch (lead) channel is supposed to emulate the Dual Rectifier's circuitry.

Alright, I'm a beginner when it comes to synths, and I don't know anything about them. I've been looking around, and so far it seems like my best choices would be either an Alesis Micron, a MicroKorg, or a Realistic MG-1. So I was wondering, which would help me start off on the right foot? I'm looking for the quot;cheesy, eletronicquot; noise type, not one that actually simulates instruments, like a piano or tuba. Any input you guys have would be great. Thanks.

Im sure that you all have noticed that both the guys from good charlotte have sig guitars. one of them has a PRS, and one has a Music Man. Im not really all that shocked that they have sig guitars, because the guitarists most likely to buy a guitar with someone else's name on it are the beginners that are into bands like good charlotte. now, the thing that concerns me is the price. i know the Music Man guitar is 1000$, and im sure the PRS isnt cheap. its the same issue as the Gibson Tom Delonge model. the players interested in guitars like that arent going to be able to spend so much money on a guitar. wouldnt you think that prs, music man and gibson would all have much better success if they made cheaper models of those guitars for beginners? Fender had that concept figured out and it seemed to do pretty well. what are your thoughts?

HEY! i have a 3 single coil strat with a maple fingerboard. I m gonna get a invader pickup real soon and i was wondering if there is a different soldering method for humbuckers. I know i have to get a new pickguard but is there any other info i need to know before installing a humbucker on a 3 single coiled guitar?

I'm looking to get some Alnico 2 magnets to do some swapping in some pickups. I see that stewmac sells Alnico 5, but does anyone know where the best place to get Alnico 2 mags would be? Thanks

Would I be better off with two 4x10s.........or one 4x10 and one 1x15 (with horn)?Each cab will be driven by half of my power amp (2x100w tube) and I only need to compete against guitarists who're putting around 20-50w, and I can rely on house PAs to help fill the room if I need more.

Here's my Ceriatone JTM45 with the head cab my buddy made for it. He previously made me a 2x10quot; speaker cab, so I had him finish the head in the same tolex, and size it down to fit better on the 2x10.
What a great amp, I had a clip over in the clip forum last week if you want to hear it. Valve Art KT66s, EH 12AX7s and a JJ GZ34 rectifier. The speaker has a Emi Legend 105 and Celestion G10S-50, a perfect match. This thing has the sweetest cleans to the most toneful Marshall roar you can think of!Very nice!!! I notice you have it on an amp stand. I have never used one, what is your experience with it? I guess it is an easy thing for me to try myself.

Recently an exact copy of my guitar (A Fender Showmaster, Basswood Body, Hardtail Bridge, Maple Neck, Rosewood Fretboard with MoP Scorpion) has been made available to me. I am dead set to buy it as I love this guitar and it feels like home to me (ya know that feeling?).
