Hey guys,

I may have a purple quilt top OLP MM1 coming my way and I'd like to put EMG's in it. But will they work in this guitar since it has a fender style tremelo in it?? Am I stuck with some Dimarzio Evolution pickups?

Will a noise gate pedal eliminate single coil hum? And if so, which pedal would you recommend?

from : localhost/don't have my good amp in my apartment, or any decent pedals. The guitar was recorded direct to the soundcard. The pedal is an old ibanez overdrive from the 80's or something. You can still ge a general idea of how the guitar sounds.I have to say I'm not in love with it. It doesn't sound the way I think a P90 should, but there is some of that character to it. Time will tell and I'll know a lot more once I can plug it into one of the really decent amps I have at home.

Today, I was hanging out in Los Angeles and after seeing an outdoor concert and stopping for dinner, I drove by a Goodwill Store and decided to stop, just to see if they had any shirts or whatever. Anyway, I intantly spotted an '86 Marshall Master Lead 1-12 combo. Unfortunately, it's a solid state not tube, but the $50 price tag grabbed me. Unable to test it in the store, I was hesitant, till an announcement came over the PA quot;all audio gear is 50% off today.quot; For a measly $25, I gambled and bought it.

Here is the story on this guitar. This, like the guitar I built earlier started from a bout with nostalgia.
I mentioned in that thread a certain bright red Charvel guitar with a floyd that I sold in the early 90’s and to this day wish I hadn’t. The main reason I sold it was I had just purchased a black Gibby Les Paul and was really starting to dislike all the pains a floyed presents, especially considering that I am anything but a whammy bar user.

Basically, while it looks exactly like a logoless SD from the top, and matches photos of other SD EVH's I've seen, it does not have the logo embossed on the back of the pickup.
