Stand-by or Off?
So, here is another tube question. This may sound dumb but as I have said before I'm new to the tube amp world...........
Lets say it is break time at band practice, we are gonna take a ten minute break, should I turn off the amp completely, or just put it on stand by?I just want to know the things to promote long tube life, thanks!

498T amp; 490R
I am going to replace the stock 498T amp; 490R pickups in a '93 LP Standard with a set of Alnico 2 Pros. Will my tone be noticeably warmer, or is the difference between the two negligible? (If you can't tell, I have NO idea what I'm doing!)

Boss DR-3 Drum Machine for sale!
I got this through the forums and I just don't use it like I expected I would. I'm about to buy a midi controller so I'm just going to use it for drums.

Single Coils to Match an SH-11...
I am thinking of buying a guitar from a friend of mine. It's a quot;Super Stratquot; type with an H-S-S pickup config. It has an ash body, rosewood fingerboard and a locking trem. I have decided to install an SH-11 Custom Custom in the bridge position. I can't figure out really what I should install in the neck amp; middle positions. I was leaning towards a pair of APS-2's. But I thought they might be a little too low output to keep up with the CC. I also was thinking about huim-canceling. That would be nice too. I have a Classic Stack but it's very low output. I don't think it would match well.

Diagrams from the WayBack machine
Here is a wiring diagram from 1981 for a four conductor Duncan Distortion SH-6. I think most four conductor pickups use the same layout. Step aboard the WayBack machine and post some old Duncan stuff. Not a diagram per se, but a cool old ad:I particularly like the quot;Seymourizer IIquot; and quot; Research Laboratoryquot;.

Dimarzio Bluesbucker
Hi all. I'm wondering if anyone here has experience with the Dimarzio Bluesbucker. One of the reasons I'm interested is cause Dimarzio says the coils can be split without losing much output. I've never liked the volume drop you get when splitting humbuckers. Does this pickup really sound like a P90 and how are the split tones?
