I'm going to be wiring up a mini switch for the first time today and I was wondering what wattage iron to use...I have a radio shack iron that's switchable between 20 and 40 watts...I usually use 40 watts for guitar stuff, but I wonder if 40 watts will be too much for those tiny lugs on the mini switch....I was thinking 20 watts might be better, but maybe it will be too low?
....also, what tip would be best? I use a chisel tip usually, but I have a pencil tip that I could use for the mini switch....

WTB: Bill Lawrence L-500L or XL bridge
Hey guys, I'm sure this is somewhat of a lost endeavour, seeing as everyone seems to LOVE these pickups, but I thought I'd give it a try.

To buy or not to buy…Les Paul Gem
Guys, I’m looking at picking up a Les Paul Gem in the next week. I’ve yet to own a P-90 Lester, and thus I was wondering if I would be able to swap out the bridge P-90 for a Mini Humbucker with an LP Deluxe style mounting ring). I’m not keen to modify the guitar in a way that is not reversible. If it is not a straight forward operation, I think I’ll leave the Gem in the guitar shop…

Strat switches?
Is there a good 5 way switch that really stays in a position unless you apply some force? Or am I forced to be more careful with my picking hand?

Pickups for all mahogany Les Paul Special Faded
Hello all. Looking for opinions. I am currently using a '59 set in this guitar. I find the neck to be too muddy for clean and overdriven tones. On the SD sound samples, I was really struck by the dirty bridge tone of the Seth Lover. None of the others have that vintage, hollow honk. I also thought the bright breathiness of the Jazz pickup sounded best for clean and dirty. I'm curious how this combo would sound in my guitar since it is most likely a darker guitar acoustically than the one used in the SD sounds samples. Thanx!
