Hey guys, I'm sure this is somewhat of a lost endeavour, seeing as everyone seems to LOVE these pickups, but I thought I'd give it a try.

Would anyone happen to have any of these for sale? I've heard nothing but great things and want to try one, but I hear the wait time is really long to order one. So once again, the ORIGINAL (actually made by Bill Lawrence himself) L-500L or L-500XL bridge pickup.

Thanks

Your best bet is to order one from and wait for a few weeks. Most people don't let these go, in fact they collect them .

He's right, you'd have to kill me to get one out of me!

I love mine!!! I might sell them for the going price on Ebay!!! LOL!!!! BTW, you will not want to pay that much for them though!!! You are better waiting a bit for them!!!

Yup, very much worth the wait.

How long do you guys think the average wait time would be? I've become EXTREMELY interested in giving one a good workout.

Oh and which one is better for crunch and smooth, sustaining leads, screaming harmonics?

Best thing to do is to call Becky. The number is on their site, URL given by AJ. She can tell you what the wait time would be and which one would meet your needs but I can probably take a guess that the XL would fit the bill (no pun intended).

Anyone got any clips of these things? I was always under the assumption they were super super friggin hot?

I recorded some clips of the 500R and 500C in my strat a while back, I'll bump the thread in the clips section. The C is almost a single coil, not too hot at all.

Not really, its is kind of hot though!!! If you want a truly versatile pickup get one! They are versatile in the way that they do ALOT of stuff VERY well!!!!

Yep, mainly IMO because they don't impose their own EQ alterations to your tone (JB has an upper mid spike, C5 is a tad scooped, and so on). They are transparent and really let your rig shine through. That way the settings on your amp, the guitar's controls, and your playing determine the tone, sound, and style coming out of your speakers.
