Hails guys
how are yah?
i changed my mind in my custom guitar project, instead of maple neck-thru , brazilian rosewood fretboard and mahogany body... i´ll got with a mahogany neckthru, mahogany 2 piece body, and i can´t decide which fretboard wood to clear and bright up things ...
Whichy one do yourecomend?
24 frets... 2 humbuckers, floyd rose.
1 volume pot only, and a 3 way switch.

maple!
Maple is a very enduring wood.
I've got rosewood on my Schecter and ebony on my Warmoth. I really wish I had gone with rosewood on my Warmoth too - ebony is too sharp sounding for me.
Hails!!!!!
I like ebony followed by maple myself!!
i like ebony a hell of alot more than rosewood expecially for what ur asking about
I love nice dark chocolate colored rosewood. I wouldn't pay the premium on Brazillian rosewood, you can find really nice examples of other species of rosewood that aren't protected.
yeah, thank´s guys, but here in brazil, it is not so expensive
I see your point.
But isn't it still protected?
Rosewood, no other way for me. Maple and ebony are just too bright for my taste. Brazilian rosewood is the ****, it's no wonder why it's on premium grade instruments.

Here's the rub. Brazillian Rosewood has been on a protected sort of status, at least as far as the US is concerned, since 1965. So that means, either the BR that you get is either: a)not real BR. b)Stock that's been sitting since before 1965. c)Smuggled in to the US.
BR is nice because of the color, the tight grain, waxy feel and look, and the figuring. There are species of rosewood that pretty much as nice, but it doesn't have the allure of the quot;forbidden fruitquot; that BR has.
Yah, The brazilian rosewood is still protected, but here in brazil we have a large (i guess) stock of it
my point is... i´m affraid that things get muddy with the neck and body made of mahogany, so, i want to certify myself that, by chosing the right fretbpoard wood, it will clear things up a little... or you think that if i put a MAPLE CAP in the mahogany body it will help!?

I personally don't think fingerboard wood makes that much of a noticable difference in tone. For anyone that thinks there is, go to a music store with a friend and have them try a bunch of the same guitar and you listen while they play and see if you can tell the difference.
Body wood, neck wood, and neck joint construction will be much bigger factors than fingerboard wood.
yah
thank´s MAN
Boy...if you have access to Brazilian Rosewood I'd use that. '63 and '64 Gibson Firebirds are neck through Honduras Mahogany guitars with Brazilian Rosewood fingerboards. I've always loved those old Firebirds and they are not muddy or dark sounding guitars at all. Back in the day, I was foolish enough to replace the minihumbucker in my '63 Firebird I with a full size Gibson humbucker and the tone was fatter and thicker with the full size humbucker than it was with the mini but it was still clear and bright. I said foolish only because I devalued the guitar...but at the time it wasn't a collector's item: yet. Lew
Thank´s LEW
i´ll use the brazilian rosewood
then
